WHISKEYTOWN NATIONAL RECREATION AREA, Calif. - All areas of Whiskeytown National Recreation Area closed by winter storm damage have been re-opened for use.

Heavy snowfall on areas affected by the Carr Fire up-rooted trees and broke branches and power poles within the park, especially along JFK Memorial Drive.

The National Park Service and utility company crews continue to remove fallen debris and branches hanging in trees along roads and near facilities, and restore power to Whiskeytown facilities.

The Whiskeytown National Recreation Area was hit hard by the Carr Fire, and now by the winter stormy weather. You can watch our Action News Now special news broadcast about the Carr Fire by clicking on the title below.
