Silver Fire in Palo Cedro is Fully Contained

The Silver Fire burned 76 acres in Palo Cedro on Oak Run Road.

UPDATE 7:31 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018 - The Silver Fire is now 100 percent contained.

UPDATE 1:37 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018 - The Silver Fire continues to hold at 76 acres. It is 95 percent contained at this time.

UPDATE 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 - The Silver Fire is 76 acres in size and is 90 percent contained. One structure was destroyed.

UPDATE 11:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 - Cal Fire says the Silver Fire is 32 acres and is 70% contained.

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office says all evacuation orders have been lifted and all road closures have been reopened due to the Silver Fire. 

The evacuation center located at Foothill High School has been closed.

Fire crews will continue to mop up in the area overnight.

UPDATE 4:54 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 - Both fires are being called the Silver Fire. 

The first fire, which burned near Oak Run Road and Little Ridge Road is 100 percent contained at five acres. 

The second fire is burning 20 acres near Oak Run Road and Beaver Road. There is no longer forward movement on that fire. 

Cal Fire has confirmed that one structure is burned, but has not assessed it yet to determine whether it is damaged or destroyed.

UPDATE 4:03 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 - There are now two fires burning on Oak Run Road. The first, originally called the "Silver Fire" is burning five acres on Oak Run Road and Little Ridge Road. 

The second fire is on Oak Run road and Beaver Road, east of the area of the Silver Fire. That fire is 15 acres in size and is prompting evacuations for Shel Max Road.

PALO CEDRO, Calif. - Cal Fire and the U.S. Forest Service are responding to a 10-acre vegetation fire off of Oak Run Road and Little Ridge Road in Palo Cedro. 

Cal Fire has called it the "Silver Fire."
