Neighbors woken up by loud explosion discover Shingletown home on fire

A home was destroyed by a fire in Shingletown around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

SHINGLETOWN, Calif. - A home was destroyed by a fire in Shingletown around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The home was fully involved in the fire that spread to the vegetation on the 7100 block of Alward Way, according to the Responders with the Shingletown Volunteer Fire Department.

No one was home at the time of the fire. However, CAL FIRE said the neighbors were woken up by a loud explosion before seeing the flames.

They said the home was a complete loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
