SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) reached out to Butte County Sunday night to raise funds for Camp Fire relief efforts, mainly to support the Paradise High School music program. Another organization joined in, however, and contributed money to help undocumented immigrants that were impacted by the fire.

Butte County Supervisor Debra Lucero was at the event with Shawn Howell, the Choral Director for Paradise High. They spoke to the San Francisco crowd who came out to support the efforts at the SFGMC's brand new facility.

The art deco venue at 170 Valencia St. is the first-ever national LGBTQ Center for the Arts. The group plans to focus on performances, public programs and community partnerships to provide a space to bring the arts community and SFGMC together.

Paradise High School will receive $7,500 from the benefit ticket sales to support their programs. An additional $7,500 arrived in the form of a large check from the World Rainbow Fund. It was presented to Supervisor Lucero to use for relief efforts to support undocumented immigrants.
