TABLE MOUNTAIN, Calif. - Sunday morning an arson arrest was made after officers received a report that someone in a red SUV was throwing firecrackers out of a moving vehicle.
A suspect was later taken into custody and was charged with possession of dangerous fireworks, possession of methamphetamine, and for driving on a license that had been suspended for previously driving under the influence (DUI).
At almost 7:45 Sunday morning the report was received by dispatchers, and then the Butte County Sheriff's Office proceeded with their investigation. They were assisted by the CAL FIRE Butte Unit.
Deputies arrested 36-year-old Joshua Conrad of Oroville at a location near Cherokee Road and Table Top Drive, which is on Table Mountain in Butte County near Oroville.
Conrad was found to be on post-release community supervisor (PRCS), and was searched at the scene by officers.
The arresting deputy said that several bottle rockets were discovered inside the red SUV, along with methamphetamine.
He was also arrested for placing an explosive device in or about structures or land to start a fire, according to the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
