Long Valley Fire at 100% containment

Long Valley Fire that broke out Saturday on the California-Nevada border has reached 100% containment as of Tuesday, Aug. 27.

LASSEN COUNTY, Calif. - The Long Valley Fire that reached 2,438 acres in less than 24-hours, has now reached 100% containment as of Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The fire broke out Saturday in California's Lassen County and quickly spread across the state line. Flames have charred 3.8 square miles of dry brush.

It began east of Portola in Lassen County and is now on both sides of the California - Nevada border.

Evacuations and road closures were in place though they have since been lifted.

Residents in the small Rancho Haven community were evacuated but residents were allowed back in on Sunday.
