BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Action News Now has confirmed that the Kirshner Wildlife Foundation in Butte County has survived the Camp Fire.

Reporter Hayley Watts visited the Foundation, which appeared mainly untouched by the flames.

According to Roberta Kirshner, owner of the wildlife sanctuary, they lost a few freezers that they use to store meat for the animals but other than that the property was ultimately untouched by the fire.

"We are very blessed," she said.

In case of evacuation, Kirshner said that they do have an extensive plan that is required by the state.

Currently, they are looking for tent donations to shield the animals from the smoke and ash. They should be grey so they are reflective of the sun and a few different sizes: 9X11, 10X12 and 24X24. Donations can be taken to the sanctuary's location at 4995 Durham-Pentz Road, Oroville.
