CORNING, Calif. - A fire destroyed a home on the Glenn/Tehama County line in the south area of Corning on Friday. The location was the 23000 block of Malton Switch Road.
According to CAL FIRE Captain Wes Morgan the fire destroyed the home and Red Cross was called in to assist the one person who was living there.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but it may have started in the microwave oven, according to firefighters.
Morgan said the roads in that area are narrow, saying it was difficult to park fire equipment. The firefighters were asking community members to stay away to make sure the responders had enough room to park and move around as they needed.
The fire began at approximately 2:14 p.m. and was contained within a half hour.
Orland Fire, Tehama County Fire, and CAL FIRE crews all responded to the scene quickly.
