REDDING, Calif.- The people of Hayfork are anxious as smoke from the Monument Fire clouds over the city, forcing new evacuation warnings.

Ernie's True Value has been able to help firefighters and the residents of Hayfork get the supplies they need.

"Firefighters have been coming in for a lot of camping stuff right now. We don't have much equipment; we do carry some generators, but we get many firefighters who get warm clothes," Ernie's True Value Cashier Brittany Jenkins said.

Even though the smoke makes it hard to breathe, Jenkins says she makes it a point to come to work anyway to help her community.

"It does get smoky in the building, but we do okay keeping it out actually, it's not too shabby, working outside would be a lot worse, it's not too bad, but like being open and available for the firefighters," Jenkins said.

Jenkins says she worries about her store having to close down again if the fires get too close.

"I am a little nervous about that. I just started again, so I'm nervous that we cannot provide people with the items they need. I like to be available, I don't like it when we are not. We did have to close down once," Jenkins said.

Jenkins said if she has to evacuate, she plans on going to Weaverville with her family.
