UPDATE: 7:20 a.m. Monday, July 20th - The Shasta-Trinity National Forest is reporting that the Gibson Fire is now 100% contained. Firefighters worked through the night to finish off the fire. It burned a total of 35 acres.

UPDATE 9:00 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2020 - The Gibson Fire is 20 acres in size. Firefighters have it 50% contained and they are making good progress, according to Shasta-Trinity National Forest's incident Public Information Officer, Debbie Carlisi.
Carlisi said crews are working on both sides of the Sacramento River in the canyon in order to protect the railroad tracks. Two scooper planes have been working in tandem dropping water on the fire.

UPDATE 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2020 - One lane of Interstate 5 Northbound is closed due to the Gibson Fire, from north of Pollard Flat to Gibson.
