Cal Fire says Elk Fire is now contained

The Elk Fire burning in Glenn County is now contained.

FRUTO, Calif. - The Elk Fire burning in Glenn County is now contained.

Cal Fire crews responded to the fire early Sunday morning. It prompted evacuation orders for the Fruto area near State Route 162 and County Road 303. Crews contained the fire at 727 acres.

No structures or properties were burned, and no injuries were reported.
