Cherokee Fire destroys 20 vehicles in Oroville Monday

CAL FIRE put out a fire that destroyed 20 vehicles and eight buildings.

OROVILLE, Calif. - CAL FIRE Butte County put out the Cherokee Fire in the area of Table Mountain Blvd. and Cherokee Rd.

Crews remained at the scene throughout the night mopping up and conducting overhaul and salvage operations.

The fire burned about four acres after breaking out around 4:15 p.m., according to CAL FIRE.

The fire burned six outbuildings, two structures, and 20 vehicles. 

CAL FIRE said power lines were down and were sparking as they were trying to put the fire out.
