MAGALIA, Calif. - Firefighters have knocked down a house fire on Imperial Way in Magalia.

CAL FIRE Butte Unit said a fire engine was dispatched to a report of smoke in the area of Imperial Way at 11:20 a.m.

"We are in a pretty tight-knit community, some fears it could spread but an aggressive attack by the first engine, aided in that fire being contained.” Butte County CAL FIRE Captain John Gaddie said.

There was no one home at the time and there were no injuries reported, according to CAL FIRE.

Neighbor Charles Cook said he was just glad that no one was in the house.
