RED BLUFF, Calif. -  Cal Fire Tehama County is fighting a vegetation fire burning west of Red Bluff.

Fire officials say it's located about a half-mile off the road, near the intersection of Red Bank and Colyer Springs Roads, in the Red Bank Creek area.

The fire was reported at 3:30 p.m. Thursday and by 5:45 p.m. it was estimated at 7 to 10 acres in size.

Cal Fire Dispatch said no homes were threatened, and it was growing at a slow to moderate rate of spread.

Right now, there is no word on what may have caused it.
