FEMA Opening Disaster Recovery Center for Carr Fire Victims

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is opening a Disaster Recovery Center for victims of the Carr Fire.

REDDING, Calif. - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is opening a Disaster Recovery Center for victims of the Carr Fire.

The Disaster Recovery Center is transitioning from the Local Assistance Center, which is closing on August 8 at 7 p.m. The new center will be open on August 9 at 9 a.m. 

Residents impacted by the fire can go to the center to get information about disaster assistance programs and ask questions related to specific cases. Representatives from the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Small Business Administration, volunteer groups and other agencies will be at the center to answer questions. 

The center will be open from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily at the former Kmart building located at 2658 Hilltop Drive in Redding.
