Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 - The Fawn Fire remains at 8,578 acres with 90% containment. CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit has resumed command of the Fawn Fire.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The Fawn Fire increased to 90% containment as the fire has burned 8,578 acres, according to CAL FIRE.

Fire crews said the fire is not anticipated to spread as they will continue to mop up and patrol the fire until it reaches full containment. 

Firefighters will be helping people return home. The evacuation center closed on Wednesday night.

3 firefighters were injured fighting the Fawn Fire but the extent of their injuries is unknown. 

There have been 185 structures destroyed and 26 structures have been damaged. There are no more structures threatened.

The fire broke out Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. in the area of Fawndale Rd. and Radcliff Rd. 


All evacuation orders have been lifted.
