USFS stops forward progress of 2 fire in Shasta-Trinity

Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of two fires in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest Friday.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - Firefighters were able to stop the forward progress of two vegetation fires in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest on Friday. 

The U.S. Forest Service said the Moss Fire was stopped at about eight acres. Crews used engines, air tankers and helicopters to help stop the forward progress. 

Crews will remain on scene to strengthen handling around the fire and mop up.

The Dog Creek Fire's forward progress was stopped at five acres around 2:15 p.m.
