TRINITY COUNTY, Calif. - Crews are continuing to battle the Hobo Fire near Barney Gulch, north of Helena and Highway 299 in Trinity County. The fire is 412 acres and 35%, according to Inciweb. Forest Service officials say the reduction in acreage is due to better mapping.
Officials with the Shasta-Trinity National Forest said fire movement has been to the north and flanking County Road 421. Similarly, the fire is active and moving north along the high ridgeline above Barney Gulch.
The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, northwest of Junction City.
There is no word on if there are any structures threatened. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
