Fire crews make good progress on Kincade Fire

UPDATE: The Kincade Fire that forced the evacuation of more than 180,000 people is now 84% contained.

SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. - The Kincade Fire that forced the evacuation of more than 180,000 people has reached 100% containment as of 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5.

The fire remains at 77,758 acres, however, fire crews have continued to make good progress on containment. 

Most of those evacuated after the fire started last week have been allowed to return home. According to CAL FIRE, 374 structures have been destroyed, 60 structures have been damaged, and four people have been injured. 

The fire broke out at 9:27 p.m. on Oct. 23 according to CAL FIRE.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office says this evacuation could be the biggest in the county in more than 25 years.
