TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. – The strong winds are not helping as firefighters continue battling the Dairy Fire burning in Red Bluff.

Employees at a nearby Decal Shop called “Dietz Decalz” said they saw large plumes of smoke Tuesday and they were concerned the flames were moving in their direction.

"I saw a lot of smoke coming out and the wind coming around, I was concerned it was going to come this way. I started walking around and watching the wind and what direction it was going,” said employee, Victor Serrano.

Wednesday, there were still a few hotspots, some smoke in the orchard and firefighters battling the flames by helicopter.

Workers at the decal shop said they’ve been evacuated in the past and they were concerned about the fire.

"It's always a concern, especially with the big fires that happen, you had the Carr Fire and Paradise fire, and you hope the next big one isn't here in Red Bluff," said employee, Justin Dietz.

At this time, the Dairy Fire is 45% contained at 163 acres, burning near East Canal Road and Tyler Road.

Action News Now reached out to the owner of the orchard, but he did not want to comment on the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
