PLATINA, Calif. – Cal Fire will conduct a prescribed burn start Tuesday, March 2 through Thursday, March 4 five miles northeast of Platina.
The prescribed burn will be conducted on up to 1,200 acres on the north side of Platina Road. Residents can expect to see smoke during the burn operations and the following days, according to Cal Fire. Smoke will be visible from the Redding area.
Burning will start at 10 a.m. each day and is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. Crews will stay on scene for the duration to make sure interior fuels are consumed and mop up is complete.
