Vegetation fire contained near Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve

Cal Fire crews contained a vegetation fire Thursday afternoon near the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve.

FOREST RANCH, Calif. - Cal Fire crews contained a vegetation fire Thursday afternoon near the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve.

It was contained at 3.95 acres. Crews will now be on scene for three to four hours for heavy mop up.

The Fourteen Fire was reported a little after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Dry conditions, warmer temperatures, and gusty north winds will drive high fire danger and a Red Flag Warning across most of northern California Monday. Winds will diminish and temperatures will warm up on Tuesday. We'll stay dry and heat up later this week. Cooler temperatures then return for your weekend.
