Lone fire in Palermo fully contained

UPDATE: 1:05 p.m. Friday, June 5 - Cal Fire crews said the Lone fire near Lone Tree Road in Palermo is 100% contained.

PALERMO, Calif. – Cal Fire crews said the Lone fire near Lone Tree Road in Palermo is 100% contained.

The Lone Fire was kept to only 10 acres, Cal Fire said. Firefighters reported the fire just before noon Friday. The fire was stopped by a bordering almond orchard.

Firefighters did say one shed was damaged, but no structures are threatened. Crews will remain on scene to mop up. 

The cause is still under investigation.

Gusty winds will keep fire danger elevated early Tuesday, but winds will diminish this afternoon. We'll also get a little warmer for your final day of the summer season today. Dry conditions and around to above average temperatures are expected through Friday. Temperatures will then cool down this weekend.
