Cal Fire crews stop forward progress on Gulch Fire

Cal Fire crews are responding to a vegetation fire located off Oregon Gulch Road near Potters Ravine.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – Cal Fire crews are responding to a vegetation fire located off Oregon Gulch Road near Potters Ravine.

Crews are calling this the Gulch Fire. It was first reported around 3:50 p.m.

Cal Fire said at a final count it was just shy of 4 acres and crews will remain on scene for a couple of hours to mop up.

A helicopter, dozer, hand crews were all called in to assist, but access to the fire was difficult, according to firefighters.
