CAL FIRE plans prescribed burn east of Whitmore

CAL FIRE is planning a prescribed burn about 13 miles east of Whitmore on the LaTour Demonstration State Forest.

WHITMORE, Calif. – CAL FIRE is planning a prescribed burn about 13 miles east of Whitmore on the LaTour Demonstration State Forest.

Crews plan to burn about 20 acres. It will be conducted as an agency project to reduce fuel loading and train agency personnel, said CAL FIRE.

Burning will be conducted depending on the weather conditions between the window of November 11 through November 12. Crews warn smoke from this control burn may be visible from Whitmore and the Valley Floor.
