CAL FIRE: Vance Fire 65% contained

Forward progress has stopped on Vance Fire and is 65% contained, CAL FIRE said.

UPDATE 7:00 p.m. Sept. 27 - CAL FIRE says though the spread of the fire was stopped quickly, there was some spread into the Oroville Wildlife Area.

The fire is 3.6 acres and now 65% contained.


UPDATE 4:40 p.m. Sept. 27 - Forward progress has stopped on Vance Fire and is 20% contained, CAL FIRE said. The fire is currently under investigation.

The fire started on private property and crossed over a little into the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, also known as the Oroville Wildlife Area.


BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - CAL FIRE is on the scene of a fire burning north of Biggs and south of the Thermalito Afterbay.

The fire is on the east end of Vance Ave. and Larkin road and is 3-acres, CAL FIRE said. It started burning around 3 p.m.
