SHASTA COUNTY, Calif.- The Fawn Fire has burned 150 acres and is 5% contained as of Thursday morning, according to CAL FIRE.
CAL FIRE says steep, difficult terrain is impacting ground access.
Firefighters have no access point to the fire and CAL FIRE says only air resources can reach it currently.
The fire is near Fawndale Rd. and Radcliff Rd. off of Interstate 5 and northeast of Shasta Lake, CAL FIRE said.
Additional resources have been requested as the fire is burning at a rapid rate of spread in the timber, according to CAL FIRE.
On Thursday morning, the Shasta County Sheriff's Office issued an evacuation warning for the fire.
