5 outbuildings destroyed in South Oroville fire

CAL FIRE crews quick action stopped forward progress on a vegetation fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in stumps field, El Medio area.

OROVILLE, Calif. - CAL FIRE crews quickly contained a vegetation fire that broke out in the area of Ithaca Street and Roseben Avenue in the community of El Medio

The Ithaca fire was contained to three-quarters of an acre and five outbuildings were destroyed, according to CAL FIRE.

When firefighters arrived at around 12:30 p.m. they spotted an outbuilding on fire and saw it had spread into the nearby vegetation.

No primary residences were damaged and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
