CAL FIRE contains early morning spot fires in South Oroville

Over 2,600 PG&E customers are without power near Oro Garden Ranch Road in South Oroville Monday.

OROVILLE, Calif. (Update: 4:36 p.m.) - CAL FIRE crews contained two spot fires in the area of Oro Garden Ranch Rd. in South Oroville. The fires broke out before 6:40 a.m. Monday morning.  

CAL FIRE said the cause of the fires was a downed power pole.

"The Oroville outage involved a broken pole top and wire down, affecting about 2,900 customers, starting at about 6:20 a.m. today," PG&E spokesperson, Paul Moreno said. "The last batch of customers were restored by mid-afternoon."

Cal Fire said there is a downed powerline in that area. As of 9:17 a.m., all PG&E customers in the area have power again, according to PG&E's outage map. 

The power outage initially impacted nearly 2,700 PG&E customers in the area of Oro Garden Ranch Rd. in Oroville.
