4 cars damaged in Redding vegetation fire

Four cars and a fence were damaged in a Redding vegetation fire Thursday afternoon.

REDDING, Calif. - The Redding Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire that was a quarter of an acre, the fire department said.

The fire department responded at about 3:32 p.m. on Thursday to 2245 Hartnell Ave.

When firefighters arrived, the fire spread to a nearby property with four parked vehicles and fencing.

The fire department said the fencing was damaged and the four parked cars had major damage.

The firefighters put the fire out within 15 minutes with no further spread.

Redding Fire Department said the fire was human-caused and people should eliminate hazardous vegetation within a minimum of 100 feet from structures.
