Red Bank Fire: Grows to 8,838 acres with 90% containment

RED BLUFF, Calif. - CAL FIRE said as of 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 12 the lightning-caused Red Bank fire has burned 8,838 acres and has reached 90% containment. The fire is located in the Red Bank Area and Balis Bell Road, 25 miles west of Red Bluff in Tehama County.

CAL FIRE said the fire was reported by a spotter plane at 12:19 p.m. on September 5 with an initial size of eight acres. Acreage growth on the fire continues to hold.

Tehama County CAL FIRE said no injuries have been reported.

Evacuation orders have been lifted as of 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9.

Firefighters are still active in the area, please drive with caution. Access is limited to residents only.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
