CHICO, Calif. – One measure Chico voters will decide on in November may lower the age limit for city council candidates.
Right now, you have to be at least 21 to run for Chico City Council. If passed – Measure G would drop that minimum age to 18.
Action News Now spoke to some voters about their feelings toward the measure.
"Why I voted no on it is because one, I don't think they are old enough or mature enough and another thing is I think college is putting things into their head to take over Butte County and take over all the properties," said Paula Hare, who is against Measure G.
"It's time for new blood," said Ken Arnold. “I agree, totally. It's time," said Steve Casanova, both who are for Measure G. "The time has come to move aside. I like the idea."
