Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Phillies announced Tuesday that pitcher Kyle Kendrick will be scratched from Wednesday's scheduled start due to right shoulder inflammation.
Zach Miner will instead take the hill in the finale of a three-game set with the Miami Marlins. It will mark his first start in the majors since Aug. 12, 2009 with Detroit against the Boston Red Sox.
Kendrick was tagged for eight hits and six runs in just 4 1/3 innings during his last outing, a 6-1 loss to the Washington Nationals last Friday that dropped his record to 10-13 and raised his earned run average to 4.70.
Miner has gone 0-1 in 13 appearances this season with the Phils, allowing eight earned runs over 19 1/3 innings.
