Recap: James Madison vs. Coll of Charleston

Harrisonburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jackson Kent scored a team-high 17 points off the bench for the James Madison Dukes, who held on for a 58-56 win over the College of Charleston Cougars in a Colonial Athletic Association thriller at the Convocation Center.

Andre Nation chipped in with 15 points and Ron Curry scored 12 to help the Dukes (7-13, 2-4 CAA) snap a four-game slide.

Willis Hall led all scorers with 22 points to go along with eight rebounds for the Cougars (11-10, 3-3), who dropped to 2-7 on the road this season. Adjehi Baru posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, in addition to three blocks.

CofC led by as many as eight midway through the opening frame, but JMU ended the half strong and took a 28-23 lead into the locker room behind a 50-percent shooting effort from the floor.

The Dukes shot just 33 percent in the second stanza, although Kent provided a lift by scoring 10 straight points for JMU during one stretch midway through the period. Cougars guard Anthony Stitt had a look at a potential game-winning 3-pointer from the corner just before the buzzer sounded, but his shot was off the mark.

JMU connected on 6-of-12 threes for the game, compared to a 5-of-21 effort by the Cougars.
