Recap: Ohio vs. Central Mich

Athens, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Maurice Ndour tallied a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, as the Ohio University Bobcats overcame a big second- half deficit to edge out the Central Michigan Chippewas, 71-67, in Mid- American Conference action at the Convocation Center.

Ndour shot 7-of-11 from the field and 6-of-7 at the foul line for Ohio (15-5, 5-2 MAC), which has won four of five. Nick Kellogg scored 15 points and dished out six assists, while Jon Smith posted 10 points, nine boards and three blocks.

For CMU (7-12, 0-7), losers of seven in a row since the start of league play, Chris Fowler led the way with 19 points, while Braylon Rayson (15 points), John Simons (11 points, eight rebounds) and Austin Stewart (10 points) were also solid.

Neither team shot greater than 40 percent from the field in the first half, but it was the Chippewas who carried a 33-25 lead into intermission after forcing nine Ohio turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.

The Chippewas' advantage swelled to as many as 18 with under 15 minutes to play before the Bobcats used a 21-3 run to tie the game at 51 with eight minutes left. After the teams traded a few leads, Ohio went up for good on a Stevie Taylor jumper with 2:04 left to complete the comeback.

CMU, which went scoreless over the final 2:35, lost the rebounding battle, 39-32. Both teams shot a lackluster 5-of-21 from 3-point range.
