Recap: Utah vs. Ball State
Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Behind a career-best 23 points from Delon Wright, the Utah Utes made easy work of the Ball State Cardinals, 88-69, in non-conference action at the Huntsman Center.
Wright shot 9-of-11 from the field while also adding seven assists and five steals for the unbeaten Utes (6-0). Brandon Taylor poured in 17 points, while Princeton Onwas tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
For Ball State (2-3), Zavier Turner scored 15 points but also committed six turnovers. Jesse Berry poured in 13 points off the bench, Majok Majok registered 12 points and 13 boards, and Franko House and Mark Alstork each had 10 points.
Utah outshot Ball State from the field in the first half, 48.5 percent to 33.3 percent, as it carried a 36-25 lead into intermission.
The Cardinals managed to bring their deficit to six with 11:23 left on a Tyler Koch 3-pointer, but the Utes ended the threat by reeling off a quick 6-0 run to bring their advantage back to double-digits.
Utah, which led the game wire-to-wire, outscored Ball State in the paint, 44-24.Game Notes
