Recap: Penn vs. Yale

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Sears scored 24 points as the Yale Bulldogs beat the Penn Quakers, 70-63, in an Ivy League tilt at The Palestra.

Javier Duren had 14 points and six assists for the Bulldogs (15-11, 9-3 Ivy), who have won two straight games.

Miles Cartwright tallied 20 points and seven assists for the Quakers (7-18, 4-7), who extended their losing streak to six games. Tony Hicks and Darien Nelson-Henry each tallied 15 points, while Fran Dougherty cleared eight boards before fouling out.

Yale shot 46.2 percent from the field in the first half as it led 33-27 at the break. Penn shot 38.5 percent on field goal attempts and turned the ball over eight times.

The Bulldogs connected on 31 percent of their field goal tries and went 18- of-21 at the free-throw line in the second period. Hicks hit a 3-pointer with 25 seconds left to bring the Quakers within two points, but from that point Yale went on a 5-0 run to close out the win.

Yale attempted more than twice as many free throws as Penn, 31-14.
