Recap: Georgia Tech vs. Clemson
Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - K.J. McDaniels tallied 16 points and four steals to lift the Clemson Tigers to a 63-55 decision over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup at McCamish Pavilion.
Damarcus Harrison chipped in 15 points for Clemson (17-9, 8-6 ACC), while Landry Nnoko added 13 points to go along with six rebounds. Rod Hall dealt out six assists to help the Tigers to their second consecutive win.
Trae Golden paced the Yellow Jackets (13-14, 4-10) with 17 points, but also committed five of the team's 15 turnovers. Daniel Miller posted 14 points and eight boards before fouling out and Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 13 points.
Georgia Tech controlled the opening stanza as it shot 50 percent from the floor en route to a 29-23 lead at the intermission. The Tigers connected on 41.7 percent of their field goal attempts including a 1-of-8 clip from 3-point range in the first half.
Clemson heated up to sink 50 percent of its shots from the field and also converted 12-of-17 attempts at the free-throw line after the break. The Yellow Jackets were limited to 37.5 percent efficiency from the floor in the second period. The Tigers led for the final 4:45 of the contest.
Clemson outscored the hosts, 34-20, in the paint and 14-2 in fast break points.Game Notes
