Recap: Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee

Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Rod Odom poured in a career-high 26 points, as the Vanderbilt Commodores held off the Tennessee Volunteers, 64-60, in an SEC clash at Memorial Gymnasium.

Odom shot 8-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range for Vanderbilt (13-8, 5-4 SEC), winners of four straight. Kyle Fuller tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists for the hosts.

For Tennessee (14-8, 5-4), Jordan McRae scored 16 points, Josh Richardson netted 14 points, Jarnell Stokes logged 11 points and 14 rebounds and Jeronne Maymon had nine points and 11 boards.

Vanderbilt outshot Tennessee from the field in the first half, 60 percent to 40 percent, as it carried a 36-26 lead into intermission.

The Vols chipped away at their deficit in the second stanza, climbing all the way back to tie the game at 53 on a Maymon layup with 6:35 remaining, but the Commodores regained the advantage on their next possession with a Dai-Jon Parker 3-pointer. Vanderbilt led for the rest of the game, and a pair of Odom free throws with three seconds left made it a two-possession game and effectively sealed the win.

Despite getting outrebounded, 41-26, Vanderbilt outscored Tennessee in the paint, 34-22.
