It is a local breaking bad story, possibly the largest butane honey oil lab in Northern CAlifornia was busted in Yuba County. The Yuba-Sutter NET-5 drug task force has seven people behind bars in connection with the labs that are worth over $100,000.
A two month investigation ended January 30th deep in the foothills in Rackerby near the Yuba and Butte County line. $100,000 worth of honey oil and equipment was found along with 400 lbs of marijuana, which is the raw material. Agents say this is the biggest bust they have ever seen in the North State.
"This is a commercial grade operation, this is not Bob and Joe working out in their garage or in a small rental house. This is commercial as far as the equipment that they had, there was at least $100,000 worth of equipment and initial investment that went into this." says NET-5 Task Force Commander Martin Horan.
Several guns were also found at the home, seven people were arrested and two children were taken into protective custody. The task force was also able to recover a list of individuals who purchased the drugs. Agents say they are going to continue with the investigation.
