The City of Yuba City has announced the launch of a Clean & Safe Campaign to improve neighborhoods and business districts throughout the community.
The program kicked off February 19th with a “shopping cart roundup” to collect carts strewn around the City. Working in collaboration with the California Grocers Association, 30 City staff volunteers collected 453 shopping carts in three hours. Employees also removed illegal signs on utility poles to reduce visual blight and reported any city code violations that need to be addressed.
“Maintaining a clean and safe community is key to the economic vitality of our great City and the wellbeing of our citizens,” said Mayor Kash Gill. “We look forward to partnering with the Downtown Business Association, other business organizations and service providers to advance these efforts.”
The shopping cart roundup is one of several Clean & Safe programs the City is planning in the coming months to address challenges related to vagrancy, cleanliness and safety.
