Yuba City has expanded it tobacco ordinance to include e-cigarettes, meaning no vaping at city parks or within 50 feet of the entrance to any city property.

The city cites possible harmful effects of the chemicals in e-cigarettes. Yuba City is now the 74th city in California to pass similar regulations.

Chico, Oroville, and Paradise, along with Butte and Shasta Counties, have all passed similar ordinances.

Nationally, the Food and Drug Administration has proposed rules that would ban the sale of e-cigarettes to minors, and would add e-cigarettes to the list of tobacco products it regulates.
