Sutter County drug agents say 17,929 marijuana plants worth more than $10 million were destroyed after a drug bust at a property in Yuba City Friday.

The Yuba-Sutter drug task force (NET5) along with Department of Homeland Security agents found the grow operation while serving a search warrant at a property on the 6600 block of South George Washington Boulevard.

According to a NET5 news release, nobody was found at the property, but mail and other items were found bearing names of possibly involved individuals.

Investigators say the operation appears to be a part of a Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are attempting to contact the landowner, who lives out of state.
