A Yuba City councilman is under investigation by the Fair Political Practices Commission for allegedly making a governmental decision in which he had a financial interest.
State officials say councilman John Dukes violated the Political Reform Act by not removing himself from voting on an item in which he financially benefited from, and then not reporting all the income he received.
In February of 2011 Duke reportedly cast a vote that led to his handyman business being paid $10,000 for its services.
Duke faces $4,000 in fines and the Fair Political Practices Commission will meet next week in Sacramento to either approve the fines.
