Four people have been arrested and thousands of pounds of marijuana has been seized after local and federal drug agents busted a large-scale marijuana operation in Butte County.

The investigation was launched after drug agents read a story on Actionnewsnow.com about an Oroville woman being busted in Wyoming with $138,000 cash on Halloween.

The Action News Now report prompted Butte County Interagency Narcotics Task Force Members to obtain a search warrant for an Oroville storage unit on 4th Street. The search was carried out last week and 500 pounds of processed marijuana was found.

Further investigation led authorities to believe the drugs were connected to a handful of homes in the Berry Creek and Feather Falls area.

On Tuesday morning, BINTF, along with DEA agents and the Oroville Police Department raided two properties in Berry Creek and another in Feather Falls. The raids yielded more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana, five guns and more than $1500 cash.

An additional 500 pounds of marijuana, a dozen guns and $5,000 cash was found at a home on Mono Avenue in Oroville and a home at 10th Street in Oroville.

During the investigation, authorities arrested Kou Chue, 43; Wa Yang, 47; Houa Chue, 56; and Ka Vue, 66 on various drug and weapons charges.
