A two-day strike is under way at all northern California Peterson Tractor locations including the Redding, Chico and Willows locations.
Members of operating engineers local 3 began the strike last night after failing to agree to a new labor contract with Peterson Holding Company, which operates heavy construction and earthmoving operations as well as truck and power systems sales and service.
Workers at the Chico picket line would not comment, but a union newsletter cites “unfair labor practices” and no raises for more than six years among other complaints.
A call to Peterson about the strike has not been returned, but they posted a statement to their website telling customers that all facilities will remain open though some services will be limited until Tuesday.
