A woman has been taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after crashing her car into a power pole in Redding and getting pinned inside. It happened around 4am on Airport Road, North of Dersch Road.
CHP says the female driver, approximately 35 years old, of the Red Jeep was traveling northbound on Airport Road at about 40 miles per hour when she came across traffic, swerved and hit a power pole. The woman was pinned by her ankles in the car, and firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free her. She was rushed to the hospital and officers say she may suffer from broken ribs.
The driver's name has not been released.
Officers say alcohol may have been a factor.
