Authorities said a woman is safe after being stuck on Red Cliff in Redding early Friday morning.

Redding Police said Haven Humane Society received a call around 9:30 p.m. Thursday about a dog stranded on a cliff.

Around 12 a.m. Friday, a woman who works with the humane society tried to get the dog, got stuck and couldn’t get back up.

Shasta County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, Redding Police, fire, and paramedics were on the scene.

Crews sent a climber with the woman to provide her blankets and secured her to a rope.

Emergency crews said the woman was taken to a local hospital around 4 a.m., with bruises and scrapes.

Redding police said they do not know where the dog is, but believe it got out safely on its own.
