A 45-year-old woman was killed Monday morning when her vehicle was slammed into by a Ford F-250 just outside of Orland.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Orland resident Merilee Brinson was driving west on County Road 200, approaching the intersection with County Road P when she slowed for the stop sign, but didn't make a full stop. A Ford F-250 traveling southbound slammed into the driver's side of her PT Cruiser.

The force of the collision caused Brinson's vehicle to collide with a Jeep Cherokee that was stopped at the intersection.

CHP investigators say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The drivers of the Ford and Jeep were uninjured, but Brinson who was not wearing a seatbelt died from her injuries.
