A woman suffered major injuries Monday morning when her van rolled over just north of Cana Highway on Highway 99.

A California Highway Patrol investigating officer told Action News Now the accident happened around 7:45 a.m. The officer said traffic was already backed up due to ongoing road work, when a truck trying to enter Highway 99 from a driveway caused the crash.

Southbound traffic stopped for the Ford F-250, but the driver did not make sure northbound traffic was cleared before entering the highway and hit an Astrovan, causing it to flip over on the shoulder.

The driver of the truck swerved out of control and side-swiped another vehicle in the southbound lane.

The driver of the van was transported via ambulance to Enloe Medical Center with major injuries. No other injuries were reported.
